 Test Descriptions

MVC: Test location is Moreno Valley College.

BCTC: Test location is Ben Clark Training Center.

Group Testing: This kind of testing means that we start about 22 students at the same time. Mostly for 1st time college students, returning students, continuing students and students coming here from another college who would like to complete their Assessment test ONLY. Students are recommended to look over the Accuplacer Sample Questions before taking their Assessment Test. This test is about 1 ½ to 2 hours long.

Block Testing: This kind of testing is the same as Group Testing but the difference is that we have a certain amount of workstations set aside (5-10) each hour listed. Ability to Benefit (A to B) Testing: Test is for students who are applying for Financial aid and do not have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Students must meet certain minimum requirements. Contact the Assessment Center for appointment.

English as a Second Language Test (ESL test): Is the RCCD's test for students who wish to take English as a Second Language classes. This test is designed to measure a student's knowledge of the English language as well as the student's readiness to take college-level classes.

Spanish Test: This test is for non-native Spanish language speakers who wish to take a Spanish class higher than SPA-1. Students wanting to take ESL classes must take the English as a Second Language Test. 

ESL One-Stop: Is for 1st –time college students who wish to take English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and also need to complete the ESL Placement Test, New Student Orientation and One Semester Plan. Please keep in mind that this test is designed to measure a student's knowledge of the English language as well as the student's readiness to take college-level classes. This is a group session of 15-20 students and it may take up to 3 ½ hours for all three components to be completed.  This is for 1st-time students who need to take the ESL Test, Orientation and One Semester Plan.
